Leveraging data to create compelling visuals can start meaningful conversations among diverse groups and people. An unprecedented amount of data is collected about nearly every aspect of life these days, but we struggle to effectively communicate with it.

 

I work as the Creative Director of a business intelligence consulting firm, but identify most naturally as a visual communicator and artist. I have years of experiencing working with technology to make data more palatable to non-technical audiences.

 

While I enjoy the rigor that comes from developing high-quality business reporting, I’m learning that data can and should be used by people to better understand each other. Visuals based on the human experience can help us both recognize and appreciate the experiences of people whose circumstances are unlike our own.
